Now, other people vehemently disagree: baby should be allowed to attend this child-free wedding, they say. A newborn can't get down on the ground and run free, wreaking havoc by pulling tablecloths to the ground and squishing handfuls of cake onto their clothing the way a toddler can. An infant will probably be swaddled to Mom for 98% of the night, anyway. Ideally, they'll be peacefully asleep while Mom snacks on hors d'oeuvres and chats with other guests. That's why this journalist and Mom thinks that it'll be fine to bring baby to the wedding, calling her future newborn "basically nonexistent."
Although she wrote that she wasn't starting to stir up a discourse, she certainly did, as droves of people shared advice, personal anecdotes, and strong opinions on both sides. We'll just have to wait and see if this person gives any updates! And after all, the most important people to ask are the couple getting married. If they say the newborn is welcome, than that's that!
