Mom questions etiquette of bringing 3-week-old newborn to childfree wedding: 'Newborns (to my mind) are basically nonexistent'

This Mom is about to give birth, but she's stirring up internet drama with her etiquette question: can she bring her newborn baby to a child-free wedding? 

Are babies children? Specifically, when babies are very small, when they're still in that stage where they're all scrunched up and red, sleeping 20 hours a day, and doing that specific type of infant cry when they're hungry or need to be changed… are those children? 

This question is far more divisive than you might think! On its face, we could say, "Yes, an infant is a child." Should you bring an infant to a childfree wedding? That's the question that's sparking debate online. Some folks say yeah, that totally is a child who shouldn't be at a wedding. There's little chance the baby will sleep the entire time — they're bound to wake up and wail at some point, if not for the whole time. If all goes perfectly well, they'll sleep like a little angel for hours on end. But if it goes badly, they might not stop crying for the entire time. It's truly impossible to know beforehand how the little one might act. This baby isn't even born yet!
